When dogs suffer from severe injuries, the last thing they need to experience is being thrown in the dumpster. They need compassion, care, and attention from the people they live with. It’s also crucial that they undergo therapy and treatment for their injuries to heal at the soonest possible time.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case for a Pit Bull found inside a dumpster somewhere in Warren, Ohio. It was too big for the dog to climb. There’s a huge possibility he was tossed in there like a bag filled with trash.
Injured and abandoned
Jason Onatz, an animal control officer, went to the site as soon as he received a call about the dog. His heart was broken into pieces when he saw the condition the poor thing was in. He realized that aside from being abandoned, the dog was also suffering from severe injuries.
The beautiful black Pit Bull’s hind legs were not functioning. He also had cuts, both fresh and old, all over his body. To make matters worse, it wasn’t just pain from the cuts and injuries he was dealing with. He was also extremely underweight, which means whoever his previous owners have intentionally starved him and hurt him.
Onatz’s team knew time was against them, so they rushed the dog to the nearest vet clinic. Doctors ran some tests and X-rays on the pooch to determine what other issues needed to be addressed.
The results revealed that the wounds all over the Pit Bull’s body were infected. There was also a broken canine tooth lodged inside his gum which needed to be extracted. By the looks of it, it was going to take a while for the pup to recover not just from his wounds and injuries but also from his painful past.
A silver lining
As of writing, the dog is starting to show signs of recovery. As great as that news is, Onatz’s team is still very much determined to find out who the pup’s previous owners are.
