According to the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County, residents and home surveillance cameras in Ashford observed a big group of husky dogs wandering in their neighborhood recently.
After being reported to Animal Control, the 14 husky dogs were captured and taken to the Humane Society for food and care, as they were no longer roaming around.
The dogs, which are between 5 months and 5 years old, arrived at the shelter feeling frightened and anxious, but have since exhibited signs of being friendly towards the staff.
The Humane Society reports that due to the recent influx of animals, their kennels are now at full capacity and continue to receive more animals.
The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County is currently taking care of 184 dogs, which is causing pressure on their staff and resources.
The staff at the Humane Society are taking swift action to nurse the 14 huskies back to health and help them recover, administering necessary medical treatment, vaccinations, and spaying and neutering them so that they can be made available for adoption in a timely manner.
