Rescued Dog Found 500 Feet Below Ground After Being Missing for Two Months

AFTER BEING MISSING FOR TWO MONTHS, A RESCUED DOG WAS DISCOVERED 500 FEET BELOW GROUND!

A group of cavers exploring 500 feet below ground happened upon a poodle that had been trapped there for two months. Miraculously, they were able to return her to her owner.

Owner Jeff Bohnert was devastated when his mixed-breed poodle Abby went missing on June 9. He never thought he would see her again. But, much to his surprise and joy, Abby was found safe and sound two weeks later.

When Gerry Keene and Rick Haley took a group into the caves south of St Louis, they found an unexpected resident. Abby was skinny, covered in dirt, and curled up on the mud floor when they found her last week. rescue workers found her in a small hole, barely big enough for her to fit in. she was malnourished and dehydrated, and it is a miracle that she is still alive.

She was so frail that she could not even wag her tail or whimper, Haley said. Rick Haley and Gerry Keene were the heroes of the hour when they pulled a shivering Abby, 13, from a cozy duffle bag she had been hiding in. The teen had been missing for hours in near-freezing temperatures before the men spotted her.

After being handed a beef stick, Abby was ready to go up for another adventure, Keene said. The 13-year-old dog was stranded alone from June 9 to August 6, owner Jeff confirmed.

Dogs can only survive for a few days without food or water, but luckily, there is ample water in the cave, Haley told MailOnline. This should keep them hydrated until they are rescued.
